The photographic recording of an unusual view of my personal world, where certain objects, materials and texts leave a special tactility or emotional value on my daily life.

I started the search for myself by looking at a quote by the Japanese writer Haruki Murakami:
We are all imperfect people in an imperfect world.

The contrast of perfection and imperfection is the main theme of this work whilst also showing how complex it is for a perfectionist to find a balance between these two aspects.

Throughout the work process it seemed interesting to show this aspect of imperfection in the photos as well. Some photos were deliberately printed and shredded on lime paper to emphasize this aspect even more.

The (nude) watch was chosen as a reflection of the title 'Nooit - Altijd' ('Never - Always') in order to reflect timelessness and the pursuit of (im)balance.
